XPS ReaderTo be able to view and print XPS documents, Microsoft's free XPS Viewer needs to be installed on your computer. The XPS file format is Microsoft's alternative to Adobe's PDF. Windows 7 already comes with XPS Viewer, but earlier operating systems need to download the following XPS Essentials Pack to open and print XPS documents.

  Info how do I get it?

  1. Download and Save the installer (red section) for your version of Windows (XP, Server 2003, and  Vista only) to the Desktop.
  2. Close all opened programs. Extract files to Desktop if necessary.
  3. Run the installer. You may be prompted to download additional components with the included automated Microsoft download tool.
  4. This is free software from Microsoft Corporation.

    • If installations for Windows XP and Server 2003 fail, install the following components:
      • Microsoft Windows® Installer 3.1 (All)
      • Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 (32 bit) (64 bit)
  • Microsoft XPS Viewer for Windows Vista (32 bit) (64 bit)
  • XPS Document Test (.xps)
