Problem: You receive annoying calls from telemarketers with something to sell or promote. These could be live people, recorded messages, or even automated machines ready to take your credit card and life.
Solution: The U.S. Government has an official registry for you to remove yourself from the public "do call" list that telemarketers use to contact you. By registering your telephone (land lines and cellular), you disable these marketing firms from contacting you. However, the "Do Not Call List" will not prevent business you already do business with (e.g. your bank, credit card company, cell provider, etc.).
Step 1
Visit the Government's official "Do Not Call List" registry website.

Step 2
Click on the 'Register Now' button.
Step 3
Fill out the form with up to three land line or cellular phone numbers. Enter a valid email address. Your email address is required to complete and validate your form request. After clicking 'Submit,' you will receive an email from register@donotcall.gov with the final step and link to confirm your request.
